Milo just told me “i didn’t say goddamnit at school today.”

Today when I picked milo up from school I asked him, “Did you eat chicken nuggets today?”
“No! I ate veggie nuggets. I dont eat chicken.”
“You don’t eat chicken? Why.”
“Because. Chickens are am-inals.”

Today at dinner I was dumping brocolli on djs plate and milo said “I want some.” I was kind of stunned, so I started trying to pick out the smaller pieces for him and he said “No, just dump it,” and he ate it all up. Then he told me he wanted some tofu after dinner, so I heated some up for him and he ate it all.

Later, I made some carrot, apple, kale juice and gave him some to try. He walked around drinking all of it saying it was really good!

So proud of my little guy!

potty training, take 2.

So it begins. Officially.

We spent the weekend pottytraining milo. We had some ups and downs – he seems to be getting the hang of this much better than last time – We’ve had quite the accidents….But overall we are DEFINITELY making progress.

Highlight of the weekend: Milo poops on the potty finally and then yells ” CHA-CHOW!”

A word to other mamas: do not decide to bake bran muffins the same weekend you are doing potty training! Eeek!

I had cut some cordoroy pants into shorts for my halloween costume, and saved the legs for this chewbacca stuffed animal I found a few months back…and this afternoon I put it together for milo. He LOVES it. He sat patiently watching me cut out all the pattern pieces – and though it is FAR from perfect, milo absolutely adores it. He carried it around all day calling it his “buddy.” He showed him earlier how to go potty (were potty training this weekend…more on that later), he brought him to dinner tonight, and he was just telling me that “chewbacca wants to play with flashcards,” after I told him that it was too late and almost time for bed. Earlier this evening milo told me “I used to be a wookie too when I was a baby.”

we finally got snow!

It snowed ALL day yesterday. I could not wait to pick milo up from school to see his reaction. He was kind of indifferent to snow last year until the snowpocalypse hit, and then he was somewhat interested. But this year we have snowboots, and snowpants and warm mittens and a sled, so we are prepared. I picked milo up after work and he was super excited to see all the snow on the ground. We took the bus home and quickly went inside to get maddox, put our snow boots on, (which milo was super excited about) and went out in the snow for a bit. We let maddox run around and I showed milo how to make snowballs. At one point I looked over at milo who was laying on the ground attempting to make a snow angel….ummmmm…..how does he know how to do that?? We brought maddox in the house and went to get our sled and I pulled milo over to the little field next to our house. There are very small hills over there, and milo had fun going down them in his sled. Then he decided to pull the sled home. Unforutunately it was dark the whole time, so I dont have great photos, and milo is in the phase where he constantly says “dont take my picture mama!” anyway…But we had a great time and made the most of it!

I made oatmeal chocolate chip cherry cookies and gave one to milo.

He was thrilled to get a cookie and went into the living room to eat it. As hes eating it he gets excited and says “OOOOH, theres raisins in here!” Eats a few more bites…”OH! There’s chocolate chips too!”

This morning after I got milo dressed, I heard him saying “I look handsome momma. Im going to go to the mirror and see.”
So he went over the mirror with him and I said, “how do you look?” and he said “good.”

What a little man!
